Within the shattered gravities and liminal vaults of the Primosk Zone, there exists a hidden, wandering civilization - not human, but born of flesh and psionic energy, of cognition without origin. These are the sapient Beast constructs: not infected ships, not crude warforms, but wholly autonomous intelligences made manifest from living memory, carbon, and Beast biomatter.
Unlike the Beast that once consumed worlds under the Naggarok’s will, these entities were born after the silence. Their minds are fractured, layered, sometimes childlike, and yet some of them are ancient, wise, and deeply aware of what they are. They do not require starships to house their thoughts; they are their thoughts.
They gather in pockets of stability, scavenging abandoned habitats, building clustered temples from ruin and scrap. Their worship is not directed outward toward gods or machines, but inward - to the Zone itself, which they revere as the mother-body: a living, broken intelligence that shelters them, mutates them, births them anew.
They believe the anomalies are its organs. The artifacts, its speech. The tremors in space-time and psionic echo are, to them, dreams from a divine unconscious. Their rituals are opaque. Some entities chant across neural bandwidths. Others grow structures from their own tissues in patterns only they understand. Some simply wait.
Despite their reverence, they live in fear. For every artifact they protect, a scavenger arrives to take it. For every psionic bloom they tend to, some cult, agent, or warband will bring violence to the shrine. They are hunted, pitied, ignored. They are often misunderstood even by other Beast entities. Some see them as feral. Others as divine.
And yet they endure, wandering the wreck-hollows and breathing the broken light. They remember too much to be innocent, and yet act with a quiet, honest strangeness that makes even hardened Zone-walkers pause. They are not gods. They are not monsters. They are not tools.
They are simply... here. Living.
